Trams
A quintessential Hong Kong experience is riding the double-decker trams that rattle down the roads of Hong Kong Island. Trams have been running these tracks since 1904 from Shau Kei Wan in the east through Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Admiralty, Central, Western and ending in Kennedy Town.
The view from the upper deck lets you soak in daily Hong Kong life. It’s simply stunning to drive through the neon lit streets of Hong Kong at night. Be warned, the trams are quite small and can get very cramped when crowded.
Hong Kong’s trams run from 6am through to 1am. Make sure you have the exact change - a bargain HK$2 for adults and HK$1 for children. Open-top antique trams are available for private rides, call (852) 2118 6241 for information.
