Stanley Military Cemetary
The Stanley Military Cemetery is a serene and well-tended cemetery for the graves of the mainly British military that died in Hong Kong after the mid-1840s. Most moving are the graves of soldiers and families who were killed during WWII Fall of Hong Kong in 1941 and the subsequent Japanese occupation.
This peaceful Cemetery is an important reminder of a painful part of Hong Kong's history. Head south away from the crowds of Stanley Market. Walk and walk for 15 minutes or so from the town on Wong Ma Kok Road.
