Yunnan Provincial Museum

Introduction

Yunnan Provincial Museum, in central Kunming, is an impressive building that houses a vast collection of exhibits. The 1st floor has an extensive array of textiles, costumes, handicrafts and artifacts relating to the 25 different ethnic groups of Yunnan. Other floors have exhibits relating to the province’s more distant past and include bronzes excavated from 2,000 year old tombs around Dianchi Lake. Other exhibits include photographs and prehistoric fossils.
