Yangzi River Bridge
Opened on December 23, 1968 the Yangzi River Bridge is one of the greatest achievements of the Communist Party and a great source of pride. This 1.5km (1 mile) double-decker bridge for cars and trains is one of the longest in China. The bridge was completely designed and built by the Chinese after the Russians withdrew support and took away the design plans in 1960.
