Forest of Dagobas

Introduction

Just northwest of Shaolin Temple is the Forest of Dagobas, a cemetery for Shaolin monks. It covers approximately 14,000 sq meters in area and is the largest of its kind in China. The cemetery contains close to 250 brick and stone stupas of varying shapes from past dynasties and some are inscribed with interesting calligraphy.
