Huaxi Ethnic Scenic Spot
Huaxi, 17km (11 miles) southwest of Guiyang is where the Miao, Bouyi and Dong nationalities live in compact communities. Here visitors can learn about their customs, lifestyles and traditions - there are Lusheng (reed-pipes) parties at night filled with singing and dancing.
Huaxi Park is a nature reserve with underground caves known for their crystal clear water and stalactites and stalagmites. At the park there is also an old mill that has been converted into an artists’ studio which sells a variety of modern paintings and sculptures.
