Seven Star Cave
Located midway up the western slope of the Putuo Mountain, the Seven Star Cave is the largest and arguably the most fascinating cave in Guilin. The cave has three layers - the highest lies roughly 8-12 meters higher than the middle layer, but the latter has splendid scenic spots. The 1,000 meter long tunnel of the cave is a gallery of stalactites and stalagmites of the most spectacular shapes and forms. Some of the more famous names that have been given to the shapes include "old banyan welcoming its guest", "two lions fighting for a ball" and "water overflowing the golden mountain".
