Canton Fair

Introduction

Canton Fair’s official name is the Chinese Export Commodities Fair. It takes place in Guangzhou twice a year in the spring and fall and is the largest trade fair in China. The fair usually lasts about 2 weeks and is host to approximately 50 trade delegations and thousands of exhibitors. Over 50,000 business people from over 160 countries attend this important commercial event.

For the leisure traveler this means that accommodation Guangzhou is in short supply and very expensive during this period. It is best to check the dates of the Canton Fair if planning to visit Guangzhou in April or October.
