White Horse Dagoba
The White Horse Dagoba is located west of Dunhuang near the old city walls. This 9 story pagoda was built in 384AD to mark the grave of a beloved white horse. The horse belonged to a monk named Kumarajiva who was traveling on the Silk Road when the horse died.
