Ditan Park
Ditan means Temple of the Earth, and it was here
that emperors would make sacrifices to please the earth gods. Built
in 1530, the temple is set in this sleepy wooded park in the northeast
of the city.
The park comes alive once a year during the Chinese
New Year (February) when extravagant Miaohui festivals are held
to welcome the spring planting season and to appease the earth gods.
Other facilities available at the park include
a mini-golf course, a restaurant and a museum.
