The Zhenjiang History Museum is housed in the former British Consulate and is one of the few colonial buildings in the city. The interesting building provides good views of the river. The museum has Tang dynasty (618-907AD) paintings, bronze, gold and silver ware plus a silver coffin supposedly containing the ashes of a saint.
