Jiuhua Mountain
Jiuhua Mountain is to the southwest of Qingyang County in Anhui Province and covers an area of 120 sq km. The mountain is one of the sacred Buddhist mountains of China and is dedicated to the bodhisattva Dizang. At one point more than 200 temples and 5,000 monks were found on the slopes of this mountain, but today only 50 well preserved temples remain. Many devotees continue to come to the mountain on religious pilgrimages The most famous temples are Huacheng, Baisuigong, Zhiyuan and Ganlu.
Another point of interest on Huangshan, en route to the summit at Tiantai Feng, is the village of Minyuan. On the outskirts of this village is a large bamboo grove, called Zhuhai, which means bamboo seas. This is an unique spot to rest while savoring the local tea.
