Biking
in Beijing
Biking
in Beijing may seem like sheer madness the first time
you see the hordes of bikes pausing at junctions, but
the view from the saddle is an unbeatable Beijing experience.
An easy route for those of us who aren't world class
triathletes would be to start at Taoranting
Park and peddle your way up to Tiananmen Square.
Nearby attractions that you can also visit include the
Great
Hall of the People, Chairman
Maos Memorial Hall and the Forbidden
City. A wonderful way to end your day would be to
continue cycling on to Beihai
Park. There you can either exercise your arms with
some rowing, or reward yourself with a nice cold beer
at the nearby café overlooking Beihai Lake.

last millenium. Once, Xian had been one of the most
fabulous cities in the world but only a few pagodas,
temples and crumbling city walls reminded Xian of its
great past. In the latter half of the 20th century,
builders and farmers uncovered relics that revealed
Xian to have some of the greatest archaeological and
historical treasures in the world today. more...
