Stanley is an appealing village on the south side of Hong Kong. The drive down the coast to Stanley provides stunning views of Hong Kong's beaches and rocky shores.
Once in Stanley shop at Stanley Market for bargains - factory-outlet clothing, porcelain, brassware, embroidered handicrafts, rattan furniture, artwork, souvenirs, silk products and much more. More shopping is to be enjoyed at Stanley Plaza, a new complex that includes the reconstructed Murray House, the former British army quarters.
Other places of interest include the former home of popular Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng, the Stanley Military Cemetery and Tin Hau Temple. There are also 2 beaches, Stanley Main Beach and the smaller St Stephen's Beach. Windsurfing and wakeboarding are available at Stanley Main Beach, while you can go canoeing or kayaking from St. Stephen's Beach.
After shopping and exploring relax at one of the many superb alfresco cafes, bars and restaurants on Stanley Main Street. Choose from British style pub grub, Thai, Italian and Continental cuisine or simply grab a drink and enjoys the view of the South China Sea and its myriad of islands.
