Temple of Mystery is found north of the Suzhou
Bazaar area. It is a charming old temple that dates back to the
3rd century. The Sanxing Dian hall is considered to be one of the
oldest Daoist temple halls in China. In the temple there are paintings
and clay statues of Daoist deities, saints and symbols.
For centuries, the temple was the meeting place
for travelling performers and tradesmen who entertained the crowds
and the same spirit is somewhat reconstructed by the hustle and
bustle of the nearby Bazaar.
