Dongshan is located on the east coast of Hainan, and is hailed as the "No. 1 Mountain of Hainan". This scenic mountain area has numerous peaks, caves, cliffs, waterfalls, woods and unusual rock formations. There are a number of pavilions and temples in the Dongshan area including Chaoyang Temple and Li Gang Temple which was built in honor of Li Gang, a general of the Song dynasty (960-1271).
