The Panshan range of hills is located 150km (93
miles) north of Tianjin. The range has 5 main peaks with pine covered
slopes, gorges, waterfalls, temples and pagodas.
Local people like to tell the story that during
the Tang dynasty (618-907), a general named Li Jin was so enchanted
with Panshan that he gave up military life to join the monastery
at Wansong Si.
