Founded in 1959, the China Art Gallery has 14
exhibition halls with a total floor space of 6,000 sq meters.
Architecturally, the building successfully melds traditional
roofing and structure with light, modern space. Visitors
particularly enjoy the gallery frequently changing Chinese and
foreign art. The 'China Daily' newspaper has information on
current exhibits.
The gallery also has a gift store that sells
an excellent selection of folk art including woodblock prints
and papercuts and also art books, notecards and calligraphy
brushes.
